Why can't I change delivery methods?

How to change delivery methods in cDocs

Some colleges and universities accept more than one type of application for students, which means colleges will accept supporting documents through multiple delivery methods. If a college or a university accepts documents through different methods, counselors can make this adjustment in Cialfo.

WARNING: Once documents have been sent, the delivery method CANNOT be changed for the college or university. There's no workaround to send documents via multiple delivery methods. For this, please contact the university directly.

This is due to the partnership agreements with both Common App and Parchment that users can only choose to use one partner or the other, not both.

Change Delivery Method on cDocs

To change the delivery method, go to the cDocs Profile and find the "Delivery Method" next to the application name. Under document delivery, it will list the available delivery methods for that particular college. Click on the delivery method you would like to use. Once the delivery method is converted successfully, the college will move to that delivery type in the student's submission sidebar and the counselor can then move forward with sending documents to that college.

Change Delivery Method on Applications

Counselors may also change the delivery method from a student's Applications page. Click on the three dots next to the application, and select Change portal option.

Then on the pop-up window, select the portal that you would like to convert to, and click on the Change portal button.

Changing Conditions

Changing to Common App Sending

  1. The college or university must be a Common App member.

  2. No documents should have been sent through Cialfo to the college or university.

  3. If changing from Parchment to Common App, no documents can be assigned to the college before changing.

  4. As long as the above conditions have been met, the counselor can go to the student's cDocs Submissions tab and find the particular college or university in their list and change the Document Delivery Method.

Changing to Parchment Sending

  1. The college or university must accept documents via Parchment.

  2. No documents have been sent through Cialfo to the college or university.

  3. If changing from Common App to Parchment, the college or university cannot be in the student's Common App My Colleges List.

  4. As long as the above conditions have been met, the counselor can go to the student's cDocs Submissions tab and find the particular college or university in their list and change the Document Delivery.

Changing to Mail Sending

  1. No documents have been sent through Cialfo to the college or university.

  2. As long as the condition has been met, the counselor can go to the student's cDocs Submissions sidebar and find the particular college or university in their list and change the Document Delivery Method.
