Student Onboarding Questions

Welcome to Cialfo! When you log in for the first time, Leo (our lion mascot) will guide you through a short onboarding to set up your profile. The very first step asks for a couple of basic facts so Cialfo can start personalising your university recommendations.

This article walks you through that first screen — "Let's start with some basic facts about you!" — and explains how to answer each question.

Why we ask these questions

A strong profile helps Cialfo personalise your recommendations. The answers you give here are used to:

  • Surface universities and courses that accept students from your country.

  • Filter opportunities, deadlines, and scholarships relevant to your graduation cohort.

  • Tailor the rest of your onboarding (and your home feed) to your situation.

You can update these answers any time later from your profile settings.

What is your Citizenship(s) and what is your expected year of graduation?

Students need to select their citizenship from the dropdown menu and choose their expected year of graduation. Once both fields are completed, the Continue button will become active.

Which region or countries are you interested in studying in?

Students can select one or more preferred study destinations during onboarding and choose their first-choice country. Click Confirm to continue.

What is your yearly budget for tuition?

Select the option closest to your estimated tuition budget and click Confirm to continue. This information helps personalize university recommendations and can be updated later.

Which courses or majors would you like to study?

Students can select one or more courses or majors they are interested in. Use the search bar to look for additional options. Click Confirm to continue.

Please note: Students can no longer skip onboarding steps by opening platform links directly. They must complete each onboarding step before accessing the main platform. If they try to open another page during onboarding, they will be redirected back to the onboarding step.
