Test Scores Upload - PSAT10/NMSQT

Written by MOHIT MMANGAL

Where can I find the Upload feature?

On the top right-hand corner, click on your Profile Picture and a drop-down menu should appear. Under Account, select Bulk Upload.

Upon landing on the Upload page, select Import test scores.

Step 1 - Uploading your data file - (.csv) or (.xls) or (.xlsx) only

a. Click the upload box, then browse and select the file you want to upload OR
b. Drag the file that you want to upload from its folder and drop it into the upload box

Step 2 - Configuring the settings of your upload

  1. Select PSAT 10/NMSQT

  2. Make sure to determine which format the dates in your file are in so that the data is read accurately by the uploader - our system current accepts Day-Month-Year, Month-Day-Year, and Year-Month-Day date format.

Step 3 - Matching data columns to Cialfo fields

First, determine which row of data in your file contains the column headers. Next, looking at the data fields that are available on Cialfo, match the columns of data you have in your file to them. For ease of future uploads, your method of matching will also be saved and automatically applied on the next upload :)

Note: All required fields are marked with an asterisk (*). For optional fields, there is an option to Ignore this column and no data will be imported under that data field

Click on "Next Step"

Step 4 - Preview & Confirm

Reviewing errors found

After processing your data, the magical wizard will then tell you exactly which row of data in your file contains errors and also what the errors are specifically. With this information, you can then do the necessary corrections. Alternatively, you may also download an error report.

Confirming test scores to be imported

On the next tab New, you will be able to see exactly what data will be imported by the uploader and also confirm the test scores and test dates you are about to import.

Turning on the "Update" function (Optional)

Intelligently enough, Upload 2.0 is also able to detect whether test scores already exist within Cialfo, based on the test dates that are entered. When this is the case, you have the option of deciding whether to update the scores for the test that has been taken on the same date.

Note: Turning on update will override/replace any existing data

Step 5 - Confirming your upload

Last but not least, click Finish Import and voila - all done!

Watch your upload status turn green, and just in case you ever need to refer back to it, you can always check the details of it on the Upload Log page.

That's the end of PSAT 10/NMSQT Upload! Happy uploading!

Troubleshooting & FAQs

What to do if the scores not matching a specific university's requirements ?

PSAT scores are uploaded into Cialfo for record-keeping purposes only. Universities do not receive PSAT scores directly through Cialfo. Students who need to submit PSAT or National Merit Scholarship results to a university must reach out to their school counselors. Cialfo records the score for counselor reference only.

How to proceed if there are PSAT scores file errors ?

  • Date format mismatch errors
These occur when the test date in your file doesn’t match the format selected during upload (dd/mm/yyyy, mm/dd/yyyy, yyyy,mm,dd). The system will reject those rows. You can download the error report after Step 4 to identify the exact rows and fix the date format before re-uploading.

  • Data matching and update issues
These include cases where scores are not updating or students are not found. If existing scores are not overwritten, the “Update” toggle must be enabled in Step 4. For student mismatches, the system relies on exact Cialfo email matching - spelling error or extra space will cause failure.

  • Partial upload failures
If only some rows fail, the upload log will reflect partial success. You should download the error report, correct only the failed rows in a new file, and re-upload. Successfully imported records will not duplicate unless “Update” is enabled.

If the issue persists after trying the above steps, contact Cialfo support with the description of the error and the original file used to upload PSAT scores
