Walking through the steps of Direct Apply application (Student)

Applying to a Direct Apply program is a breeze. You just have to follow these steps to submit your applications

Written by MOHIT MMANGAL

There are only a few simple steps to apply to colleges via Direct Apply!

1) Add programs

First, go to the Universities tab from the left hand side menu and choose your preferred programs to apply to. You can make use of the filters above to narrow down the search. Click on "Apply" where you will be directed to the university profile page where you can add the program you are interested in.

More information on how to Search and Apply for universities with Direct Apply, please refer to this article.

2) Fill out application forms

Head to the Applications tab at the side menu and click on "Complete application" button to start filling in the application form.

An application form will now appear where some fields will be pre-filled based on the data provided in your profile information page. You can also check your progress through the colour coded status bar.

The form is divided into several sections:

  1. Personal details

  2. Contact and residency details

  3. Nationality details

  4. English language skills

  5. Education

  6. Guardian details

  7. Declarations and permissions

  8. Documents upload

Personal, Contact, Guardian, Residency and Nationality details
These section includes Personal information, address, contact details, and guardian information.

English language skills

This section requires you to fill in any english language tests that you have taken.

Education

This part of the form requests for your current school and test details. Again, if the information is already available in your Cialfo profile, it will be auto-populated in the form. Please see this article for more information on how to go about filling up the Education section.

Documents

You can upload documents such as passport, visa, transcripts, English language certificate, etc with a passport being a mandatory document from the student's side.

Once you have uploaded all documents and completed all the required fields, you will see a green tick at the side indicating that the form has been completed.

3) Review

If the school has enabled the counselor review step, the student submits the application for review first. The counselor receives a notification and can approve or return it with comments. Once approved, the student can proceed to final submission.

4) Submit for Counselor Review

Once all sections are complete and any review is approved, click Submit Application. The status will update to Submitted and both the student and counselor will see confirmation on the application card.

5) Pay application fees (if required)

Some colleges require you to pay an application fee. For more information on how to pay application fees, you can refer to this article

6) Track the application

After submission, the application status will update as the university reviews it. Status labels such as Under Review, Conditional Offer, Unconditional Offer, and Rejected will appear on the application card. For a full explanation of status labels, see What do the different types of application results mean?

If a student needs to make changes after submitting, contact Chat with Cialfo some fields can be updated by the support team depending on whether the university has already reviewed the application.
