As counselors, you can assign tasks for your students - whether you need them to start thinking about the courses they'd like to take, to list down their top 5 schools and even have them do their Personal Statements!
Think of the Task List on Cialfo as a "to-do" list for your students to complete - from brainstorming ideas in to creating a curriculum for them, the options are endless!
All this can be done via the Task List section of your Student's profile.
Here's a step by step guide along with a video of how to do this on Cialfo:
Creating a Task list
1. Under the Student List, search for the needed student and click on the 'Task List' under their name.
2. Here, you may choose between adding a Task or an Essay - to know the difference between these 2, click here. A sidebar will appear which will then allow you to input the necessary details of the task/essay.
3. Give your task/essay a Title and Category. A Category is more like the main section under which you can add multiple tasks e.g. First Term Prep of Grade 12 tasks.
4. You can add a description to your task/essay, set a due date and highlight it as important. Note that under Student Files, you share files or Google links for your students to see or relevant information you think would be useful for them. For Staff Only Files, these are files you think would be relevant only for your fellow counselors in relation to the student.
Note that you can also toggle between the visibility of the task. By default, it is set to 'Everyone', but there are options for it to be visible only to staff (counselors) or to set the visibility to a future date if you think the task should be done sometime in the future!
How to assign a task to an individual student
You can also assign a task to an individual student using the Import function. To assign,
select a student and click on "Tasks or Assessments" on the top right.
You will see a pop-up including all of the available tasks & assessments you may assign to the individual student. Simply click Import on the side of your desired task/assessment and you're good to go!
Archiving a task or task list
If you want to remove the task or Task List, you can always remove it by selecting 'Archive' or 'Archive Task List'.
Note: The counselors will be able to see a red lightning mark on the task whenever a student makes any changes to their tasks.
