Troubleshooting & FAQs

What Should I Do If My Custom Folders Aren't Showing in Explore Mail?

If you have created custom folders in Bluehost and they are not appearing in your Explore Mail view within Cialfo, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log out of Cialfo and log back in — this triggers a fresh sync of your Explore Mail folders.

  2. In Explore Mail, click the "Go to your inbox" button to open your Bluehost inbox directly. Verify that the custom folders exist and contain emails there first.

  3. Allow a few minutes after creating a new folder in Bluehost before it appears in Cialfo's Explore Mail view — there may be a short sync delay.

  4. If folders created previously are still missing, try moving an email into the folder in Bluehost to trigger a re-sync.

  5. If the folders are still not visible, contact Chat with Cialfo with your email address and a description of which folders are not appearing.

What Does the "Out of Sync" Status Mean in Explore Mail?

Cialfo has introduced a new sync status message on the Explore Mail page. An “Out of sync” warning will appear when a student’s webmail password has been changed and the inbox is no longer syncing with Cialfo.

If you see this message after updating the password, please reach out to us via Chat with Cialfo for further assistance.

Why Aren't Specific University Emails Opening in Explore Mail?

If a university email isn't opening in Explore Mail, try refreshing the page or switching browsers, and if it still doesn't work, reach out via Chat with Cialfo!

Why Aren't Forwarded Emails Arriving in My Personal Inbox?

If you notice that emails received on a student's Explore Mail address are not showing up in their personal email inbox, here are a few things to check.

Emails not being forwarded to personal inbox

  1. Confirm that the student's login email on Cialfo is correct and active — a recently updated email address may not have forwarding set up yet.

  2. Ask the student to check their spam or junk folder in their personal email, as forwarded emails can sometimes land there.

  3. Send a test email to the student's Explore Mail address and check whether it arrives in their personal inbox within a few minutes.

  4. If forwarding is still not working after these steps, please reach out via Chat with Cialfo with the student's name, their Explore Mail address, and the email address it should be forwarding to, we'll happy to look into it further.
