Student Account Deactivation and Deletion

Learn how to deactivate or permanently delete a student account, including what happens to the account and its associated data.

At Cialfo, student accounts that are no longer in use can be either deactivated or permanently deleted.

When a student’s email address needs to be updated, deletion may not be necessary. You can update the student’s contact details, provide a new email address for future communication, or create a new account with the revised information. These options support smooth account management while preserving relevant student records where appropriate.

How to deactivate a student?

Authorized school counselors are the only ones who can perform this action, ensuring compliance with user account policies.

To deactivate, search for the student under Active. Then, click on the (i) beside that student's name in the Student List. This will open up a sidebar on the right. At the bottom of that sidebar, click on the Deactivate button.

Only authorized school counselors have the ability to perform deactivations within the Cialfo platform.

How to activate a student?

To activate, search for the student under the Deactivated tab. Then, click on the (i) beside that student's name in the Student List. This will open up a sidebar on the right. At the bottom of that sidebar, click on the Activate button.

How to it in bulk?

To bulk active students, you may first download the list of students using the Student List and under the Active column, change it from FALSETRUE for those students that you would like to activate. Once you have done so, simply upload the same file on the Uploader and the system will update these students from Deactivated to Activated.

Permanent deletion

Students can now request account deletion directly from the Cialfo mobile app by following these steps:

  • Open the mobile app and go to the Account section.

  • Scroll down and click on Delete Account.

  • On the next page, select the reason for deleting your account (e.g., "I don’t need it anymore," "I’m switching to someone else," or "Other").

  • After selecting the reason, click on Delete my account.

  • Clicking on the Delete my account button triggers a request that is shared with us.

Once we receive confirmation from the school counselor, we will then proceed with deleting the account.
