The introduction of Application Regions allows counselors to control which countries or regions students can conduct their university search on. This means you no longer have to create Groups for the sole purpose of Application Regions!
Setting it Up
Select the chevron at the top right corner
Select "App Regions"
You'll be led to a page with all the available countries to your students. (Note: counselors can see ALL regions always under Universities on the left-hand menu)
Select the needed regions and click "Save"
Pro tip: if you and/or a student want to see specific universities in a country, you can use the Regions filter found in University Search.
Improvements and fixes
University Region Mapping Accuracy Fix
In February 2026, a data quality fix was applied to the university region mappings used in the Regions filter on the University Search page. Several countries had incorrect or duplicate region entries that caused unexpected filtering results. The specific issues corrected were:
France: The region "Pays de la Loire" was appearing twice in the filter list. The duplicate has been removed.
Russia: "Bulgaria" (a country in South-Eastern Europe) and "Florida" (a US state) were incorrectly listed as regions within Russia. Both have been removed from the Russia region list.
South Korea: Three entries "Gyeongbuk", "North Gyeongsang Province", and "North Gyeongsang" all referred to the same region (Gyeongsangbuk-do) and were consolidated into a single correctly named entry. Additional duplicate and inconsistent regional labels across South Korea were reviewed and standardised.
These corrections improve the accuracy of university search results when counselors and students use the Regions filter.
