Cialfo offers opportunities for students and counselors researching schools to state the Likelihood of a possible acceptance into a university. We are also offering a Cialfo Likelihood and have added an Application Interest of your students. This can be particularly helpful to students who need to have a starting point of where they'd like to apply and to improve decision making during the applications process.

Cialfo Likelihood and Application Interest are housed in the Application section of a student's profile.

What is Cialfo Likelihood and Demonstrated Interest?

Cialfo Likelihood

Cialfo will help predict the likelihood of a possible acceptance into a university.

Fields returned based on student / school's information:

  • Not Enough Data: If Cialfo does not have enough student data to make an assessment, we show Not Enough Data. As students or counselors add in test scores and grades we can better predict chance of admission

  • Far Reach: We estimate that the student has between 0 to 5% chance of being admitted.

  • Reach: We estimate that the student has between 5% to 20% chance of being admitted.

  • Target: We estimate that the student has between 20% to 75% chance of being admitted.

  • Likely: We estimate that the student has between 75% to 100% chance of being admitted.

Demonstrated Interest

Cialfo will help predict and identify how likely your students will be interested in applying to a specific university.

Fields returned based on student / school's information:

For each university in a student's Application section, Cialfo will return 1 of 5 values (seen below), indicating a student's possible interest in applying to a given university:

  • Least Interest (0-20% chance of applying)

  • Slight Interest (20-40% chance of applying)

  • Moderate Interest (40-60% chance of applying)

  • Interested (60-80% chance of applying)

  • Very Interested (80-100% chance of applying)

This works similarly to our previous Likelihood & College Fit calculator where it was only applicable to US schools.

However, the algorithm has been updated to be application/university-specific to be more inclusive and helpful for a greater number of students! This means that the Cialfo Likelihood and Application Interest will show regardless of the university's country!

How are Cialfo Likelihood and Demonstrated Interest calculated?

Cialfo Likelihood and Demonstrated Interest take the below into consideration through our internal algorithm:

  1. Student Attributes: How similar a student is to students who have applied to this university or universities like the one being searched

  2. University Attributes: How similar the university is to universities that students like this apply to

  3. Actions done on the platform: Actions done by the student or done on the student’s behalf by counselors or the student’s guardian that indicate that the student is likely to apply to a given university.

How to Set it Up

  1. Make your way to the Configurations Page and select "Insights"

  2. Select who you'd want the Insights to be visible for
