Cialfo offers opportunities for students and counselors researching schools to state the Likelihood of a possible acceptance into a university. This can be particularly helpful to students who need to have a starting point of where they'd like to apply and to improve decision making during the applications process.
Here's a quick video for you:
Where is Cialfo Likelihood found?
Cialfo Likelihood is viewable on both the student's Bookmarks and Applications pages.
What is Cialfo Likelihood?
It is a data projection representing the likelihood of a student achieving a possible acceptance to a college or university. The projected likelihood is as explained:
Not Enough Data
This is shown when there is insufficient data to make an accurate assessment. As more test scores and subject grades are entered in the student profile, this increases the probability for Cialfo to predict chances of admissions.
Far Reach
There is an estimated 1% to 5% chance of admission to the university for the student.
Reach
There is an estimated 5% to 20% chance of admission to the university for the student.
Target
There is an estimated 20% to 75% chance of admission to the university for the student.
Likely
There is an estimated 75% to 99% chance of admission to the university for the student.
How is Cialfo Likelihood calculated?
The following areas are taken into consideration:
Student Attributes
How similar the student is to other applicants to the same university.
University Attributes
How similar the university is to other universities that similar students apply to.
Platform Behavior
Actions made on Cialfo by the student or made on behalf of the student by their counselor(s) and/or their guardian(s)
Where can I configure Cialfo Likelihood?
Within Configuration, select 'Insight (beta)'
Depending on the user type, toggle on or off the Cialfo Likelihood
What’s New - Improved Guidance for Cialfo Likelihood Setup and Visibility
Some counselors reported seeing a message that Cialfo Likelihood was “not yet set up” even after enabling all Likelihood toggles in Configuration.
This behaviour is expected when student profiles do not contain enough academic information for likelihood calculations. Enabling the Likelihood toggles is required, but likelihood bands can only be generated once students complete the necessary profile sections, including grades, test scores, and other academic details.
If likelihood is not appearing, confirm that the student has added their academic grades, relevant test scores, and completed the required profile fields. Incomplete profiles may display “Not Enough Data” instead of a likelihood band. Once the required information is added, likelihood scores should update shortly. If they still do not appear after 24 hours, contact Cialfo Support.
