What's new
If your school is part of the beta, your Applications page now opens in a new layout. At other schools, you can try it with Switch to new version at the top of the Applications page. It shows the same applications as before, organized so you can see at a glance:
How many applications you have at each stage
What to do next
Who has the next step on each application: you, your counselor, Cialfo or the university
Your deadlines and the one action to take
You'll see a Beta label next to the page title. The new Applications page is displayed as shown in the screenshots below:
Finding your way around
Summary strip: At the top of the page, the tabs show how many applications are at each stage (for example In progress, Submitted to university, Admission decisions). Click a tab to see only those applications.
Views: Use the Filter by option to organise your applications based on the following categories:
By Country: View applications grouped by country, such as Australia, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.
By Portal: View applications grouped by application portal, such as Direct Apply, UCAS, Common App, and other portals.
By Status: View applications grouped by their current status, such as In progress, In review, Submitted to university, and Admission decisions.
Adding an application:
Click Add new application and search for the university you want to apply to. Select the university and choose your course from the available list. If you can't find your course, click Type it in to enter it manually.
Next, choose how you want to apply. You'll see the available options, each option shows what's involved, such as any fee and whether its status syncs to Cialfo, and we mark the recommended one.
On the right-hand panel, you will see three sections:
Add new application: Add a university to your applications.
Portal accounts: Your UCAS and Common App accounts, plus your Direct Apply mail. Click UCAS to request a UCAS account from Cialfo, or link one you already have.
Documents: your transcripts, recommendation letters and the application report.
UCAS Account Setup: If you don't have a UCAS account, click Request UCAS account to have Cialfo create one for you. If you already have an account, click I already have a UCAS account to link it with Cialfo.
Understanding your application cards
Each application has a card that shows:
Status: where the application is now.
Waiting on: who has the next step: You, Your counselor, Cialfo, The university, or Your decision when an offer needs your reply.
Deadline: your application deadline, and how many days are left.
The main action: the one thing to do next, for example Complete application, Pay application fee or Reply to offer.
If someone needs something from you on an application, for example a document, the card shows a follow-up banner and chip. Click the chip to see the follow-up and respond.

After a university decides, the card also shows the university decision, any conditions, your decision and any scholarship.
UCAS and UK Direct Apply choices are grouped together in one card, because they are one UCAS application. The card shows how many of your 5 choices you've added.

Closed applications (withdrawn, or the application cycle has closed) are kept together further down the page.
Taking action on an application
Open the details: click the card or View all details to open the details panel. You can see the progress tracker for that application, update details such as course and round, add a scholarship or a note, and view the documents you uploaded.
Direct Apply applications: use the button on the card to complete, review or pay for your application, or to respond to an offer.
Common App, UCAS and other portals: these are submitted outside Cialfo. Once you've submitted, tick I've submitted this on the card (or I've submitted my UCAS application for UCAS) so your counselor knows. You'll need to choose a course first.

Note: if your school doesn't allow students to edit application details, some fields and actions are read-only. Ask your counselor to make the change.
