How does the Direct Apply fee waiver work?
When a student submits an application through Cialfo's Direct Apply feature, Cialfo coordinates with the university to waive the application fee on the student's behalf. The fee waiver applies at the point of submission. Students do not need to enter a discount code or take any additional steps to claim it.
Why does the university portal still show a payment prompt?
After a student submits a DA application through Cialfo, it is common for the university's own application portal to continue displaying a payment prompt. This does not mean the fee waiver has failed. The fee waiver is applied on the backend and the university will not charge the student. If in doubt, contact the Cialfo Support team for confirmation before making any payment.
How do I confirm the fee waiver has been applied?
To verify whether a DA fee waiver has been applied for a student, follow these steps:
Check that the student's DA application status in Cialfo shows as Submitted or Pending Cialfo Review.
Contact the Cialfo Support team via Chat with Cialfo and provide the student's name, email address, and the university name.
Do all universities on Direct Apply offer a fee waiver?
Not all universities on Direct Apply offer an application fee waiver. To check whether a specific university offers a fee waiver, view the university's Direct Apply programme page in Cialfo, or contact Chat with Cialfo.
What if I'm unsure whether a payment is needed?
Do not make any payment to the university portal without first confirming with the Cialfo Support team. Contact Chat with Cialfo with the student name, university name and programme, and a screenshot of the payment prompt.
