Scattergram Data Issues - IB Predicted Grades Showing 0 or Incorrect Scores

Why IB predicted grades show as 0 or incorrect in the Cialfo scattergram, how to update predicted grades, data refresh timelines, and how to view school-specific application history

Why are my students' IB predicted grades showing as 0 in the scattergram?

There are three main reasons IB predicted grades may show as 0 or blank in the scattergram:

  • Predicted grades have not been added on the student's profile yet: IB predicted grades must be entered manually in Cialfo. If they have not been added, the scattergram shows 0.

  • Data entry lag: If predicted grades were recently uploaded, the scattergram may not reflect the update immediately. There can be a sync delay of several hours to one business day before the scattergram data refreshes.

  • Score entered as 0: If a grade of 0 was entered during an import (e.g., as a placeholder or due to a data error), the scattergram will show 0. This must be corrected in the student's grade profile.

How to upload or update IB predicted grades

  1. Go to Students in Cialfo and select the student

  2. Navigate to the student's Test Scores section

  3. Select IB from the drop-down.

  4. Enter or update the predicted grades manually

  5. Click Save

Why does the scattergram still show the old score after I updated grades?

The scattergram pulls from a data refresh cycle, not in real time. After updating IB predicted grades:

  • Wait at least a few hours before checking the scattergram again

  • Try refreshing or clearing your browser cache

  • If the scattergram still shows incorrect data after 24 hours, contact support with the student's name and the correct expected score

The scattergram shows data from Common App β€” can I see only my school's data?

The scattergram on university profile pages shows historical admission data from all schools using Cialfo, not just your school. This is by design and provides a broader view of admission patterns for context. This can be turned on under the 'Configurations' page.

To see application history specific to your school, go to the university's profile and check the Application History tab, this will show data filtered to your school's students.

Incorrect IB scores showing on the scattergram for a student

If a student's IB score is incorrect on the scattergram (e.g., showing 5 instead of 35):

  1. Check the student's Academics section in their profile to confirm the correct score is saved there

  2. If the score in the profile is correct but the scattergram still shows wrong data, wait for the next data refresh (up to 24 hours)

  3. If the profile score is incorrect, update it manually or via the uploader

  4. Contact support if the issue persists after 24 hours β€” provide the student's name, correct score, and a screenshot of the scattergram

Note : Currently, IB scores can be uploaded manually, If you need any help with the upload you can share us the file via Chat with Cialfo we will help you update the student's IBs scores from the backend.
