Direct Apply Mail is a dedicated email inbox built into Cialfo, designed to help students and counselors manage university communication more efficiently.
It will only be for students using Direct Apply. A student receives a unique @applyda.com email address, which can be used for all applications — including Common App, UCAS, Direct Apply, and any other university system.
Direct Apply Mail helps ensure important messages never get missed by sending instant notifications via email, SMS, and WhatsApp when a new message arrives.

Where to Find Direct Apply Mail
You can access Direct Apply Mail directly from your Cialfo dashboard (only students at schools that have Direct Apply enabled have access to this feature).
Once you log in, look at the top-right corner of your screen you'll see a mail icon (✉️).
Clicking on it will take you to your Direct Apply Mail inbox.
If your school has access to Direct Apply, but you haven't added a Direct Apply application yet, you'll see this screen
How to use Direct Apply Mail?
Direct Apply (Cialfo)
Students applying via Direct Apply in Cialfo will automatically use their Direct Apply Mail email address.
This is the default setup — no extra configuration is needed.
UCAS (UK Direct Apply)
UCAS applications submitted through Cialfo also use the student's Direct Apply Mail address by default.

Access Your Inbox - Open Direct Apply Mail directly within the Cialfo platform.
View Individual Emails- Access and review each email separately, including its content, sender, recipient, and delivery details.
Check Spam (Junk) Folder- Review your Spam (Junk) folder to ensure important emails have not been incorrectly filtered.

"Explore Mail" is Now "Direct Apply Mail"
Explore Mail has been renamed to Direct Apply Mail, the name has changed. Students keep their applyda.com address, and counselors retain full inbox visibility.

What Does the "Out of Sync" Status Mean in Direct Apply Mail?
Cialfo has introduced a new sync status message on the Direct Apply Mail page. An “Out of sync” warning will appear when a student’s webmail password has been changed and the inbox is no longer syncing with Cialfo.
If you see this message after updating the password, please reach out to us via Chat with Cialfo for further assistance.

Why Aren't Forwarded Emails Arriving in My Personal Inbox?
If you notice that emails received on a student's Direct Apply Mail address are not showing up in their personal email inbox, here are a few things to check.
Emails not being forwarded to personal inbox
Confirm that the student's login email on Cialfo is correct and active — a recently updated email address may not have forwarding set up yet.
Ask the student to check their spam or junk folder in their personal email, as forwarded emails can sometimes land there.
Send a test email to the student's Direct Apply Mail address and check whether it arrives in their personal inbox within a few minutes.
